Who can join NEOS?
Any healthcare professional with an interest in obesity medicine can join. This includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, dietitians, clinical pharmacists, psychologists, behavioral health clinicians, social workers, exercise physiologists, and health coaches. Students, residents, fellows, and patients are also welcome.
How much does NEOS membership cost?
General Membership is free. Premium Membership is $125 for the first year and $100 per year for consecutive renewals. Premium includes event admission, networking, partner discounts, and voting rights.
What's the difference between General and Premium Membership?
General Membership keeps you connected through the NEOS mailing list and gives you access to free public events. Premium Membership adds complimentary admission to all webinars and in-person events, networking opportunities, partner discounts (including 10% off Obesity Medicine Association conference rates), member directory listing, and eligibility to vote and run for leadership.
Do I earn CME credits through NEOS membership?
Many NEOS webinars and events are CME-eligible. Premium members get complimentary admission to these sessions, making it a cost-effective way to maintain continuing education requirements in obesity medicine.
Do I need to live in New England to join NEOS?
No. While NEOS serves clinicians across Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, membership is open to any professional interested in obesity medicine. Clinicians from outside the region are welcome.
Can patients become NEOS members?
Yes. NEOS welcomes patient members who want to stay informed, access resources, and connect with the obesity medicine community.
How do I renew my NEOS membership?
Premium members can renew annually through the member portal. Renewal is $100 per year for consecutive years. You'll receive a reminder email before your membership expires.
Is NEOS membership tax-deductible?
Membership dues may be tax-deductible as a professional expense for healthcare providers. Please consult your tax advisor to confirm eligibility based on your situation.

Premium members are listed in the directory with their professional profile, allowing other clinicians, patients, and partner organizations to find and connect with them. The directory helps build local visibility and professional networking.
How do I get involved in NEOS leadership?
Premium members are eligible to vote in board elections and run for leadership positions. NEOS is a growing organization, and new members have real opportunities to shape the direction of the society, participate in committees, and lead advocacy initiatives.
